... she's polite.

Nearly every single time Rachael opened a present today she would say thank-you, totally without prompting. For example, she opened a doll from Nana, and as soon as the paper was part of the way off, she exclaimed, "It's a Fancy Nancy Doll! Thank you Nana!" It's too bad most of the gift givers were not here to hear it, but I was so proud of her for remembering to say thank you every time.

Occasionally there are bright spots to parenting... this would be one those times!

That is so great- our wonderful son threw about 3 different fits over the presents he was given and at one point was having a real serious break down. I just kept saying, this is Christmas, you are suppose to be happy. I guess we experienced the joy of what a 6 year old can bring to Christmas.
